There are hundreds of new hotels built along the beach but nothing still beats the pioneer. The first hotel that opened for business during the 4th of April, 1927 was the Cavalier Hotel. It started small but extensions and improvements were made but still the classic touch and design is still there which gives you a nostalgic feeling of the old days.
The rooms has every services offered this day. One interesting thing about the bathtubs at The Cavalier is that it has a fourth handle for salt water. During the 1927, the people believed that the salt water is medically beneficial and most women love the feeling and the effect of the salt water to their skin and complexion. Before there was no refrigerator so they used large block of ice to preserve their food. To provide cold water they also made a tub at the roof that was filled with blocks of ice that was added by water to provide cool water for each room by the use of gravity. Before also the pool of the hotel was filled with filtered water from the ocean until the early 70s that fresh water was already used for the pool. The hotel has been thru a lot of things but it still remained proud and standing tall together with the latest hotels facing the vast horizon of the Atlantic. The classic touch of it can never be replaced. It served a lot of guests already and made a lot of treasurable memories.
